Find out what a career in Merchandise Allocations could be like with Claire’s by joining our Summer Internship Programme in 2020. The internship programme runs for four weeks from the 29th June to 24th July, and will be based in our European Head Office in Erdington, Birmingham (UK)

During our Summer Internship Programme, Claire's interns will get an up-close, behind-the-scenes view of the retail fashion industry that you will not find in a classroom!

As an intern you will be assigned a Mentor to ensure quality learning. Mentors are here to help our interns grow professionally and personally, providing them with real-life work experience.

Throughout the four weeks, you will work side by side with your assigned Mentor on both small and large projects, including your final project, which will focus on your individual department as well as Claire's larger mission. By the end of our summer internship programme, Claire's interns will have a list of accomplishments to add to their CV that will set them apart from other recent graduates in their field of study.

The Merchandise Allocations Team:
Put simply, the allocation team is the lifeblood of the business - pumping the flow of goods out into the stores, keeping the shelves full and the tills ringing. As a large team, we maximise sales and profitability across over 1500 stores and across 18 countries - ensuring we have the right product, in the right store and at the right time. Working to better understand the complexities of the European market we will review hot new trends and best sellers, rank stores and respond to feedback from our retail estate.
What you’ll be involved in:
From your first day we will be able to show you how your actions as an Allocator at Claire’s have a direct impact on store selling – a style you allocate today can be selling in a store across the UK the very next day and in France and beyond the day after. You’ll be introduced to the top level reporting produced for our weekly trade review meetings – discussing financial plans, year on year growth and rate of selling. Over the course of your internship you will witness first hand the delivery and subsequent despatch of a style from end to end - from receipt into our warehouse, to making the allocation, being picked and shipped before arriving in store.
